D4.3 – Final report on environmental assessment covering LCA & LC-EIA

This report presents the final results, conclusions and recommendation of the environmental assessment within the Seemla project. It corresponds to the work description of Task 4.2 and Task 4.3. This report analyses the environmental impacts of different options for cultivation and use of perennial energy crops (grasses and woody biomass with up to 20 years rotation time) on marginal land. In order to cover the spectrum of all potential environmental impacts as completely as possible, the environmental assessment was carried out using a combination of two methods: screening Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and  Life Cycle Environmental Impact Assessment (LC- EIA).
